CAVAPOO/ HAVACAVAPOO
The Cavapoos are a wonderful breed combining the loyalty and gentle nature of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel with the agility and intelligence of the poodle. The training and guidance of Cavapoos is naturally easy due to these traits as well as both breeds having a deep desire to please their loved ones. We also do several other mixes as described later.
Even though Cavapoos and all our mixes range in size, color and hair texture, they all have basically the same temperament and adapt well to various living arrangements and family structures. They are creatures of LOVE and ADORATION and DEVOTION. They will bless every family in which they belong.
Our family is committed to making sure each of our puppies find the very best adoptive families. Breeding , Havapoos, Cavapoos and Cavanese is one of the greatest and most rewarding endeavors that we have experienced as a family. We now have a 4th mix which has become one of the most sought after designer breeds we have had. This is a Cavapoo mixed with a purebred Havanese. I call it just that ....some call it 'Havacavapoo'. These 3 strands of DNA bring the perfect combination to the gene pool for 'what my goals are'. (trainability from the Havanese in whom I call my circus clowns...intelligence from the poodle, sweet companionship from the King Charles Cavalier and also Havanese and health qualities from the Havanese (which is in the 5 top healthiest canines on record). All my breeds are also hypoallergenic. As a matter of fact the Havanese has been known to be a family member to the worst of asthma patients without problem. People ask what the difference in looks is. Well basically nothing unless we breed Cavapoo to Cavapoo and sometime have one that looks more like the Cavalier King Charles. Otherwise they all have that cute teddy bear look.
But equally important to finding the perfect home for these wee ones is to bring blessing, joy and laughter to people and other families like our own. We are successful in our efforts as many hours go into the birthing, training and ‘uniting of puppy and family’.
Every puppy born within our home is hand delivered (by me Cindy). From the moment of birth, each of our family members and my 'puppy helper' and her 10 year old daughter is involved with their care and growth. The puppies are birthed in my personal ‘walk in closet’ as is by choice of the moms. They can 'see me working at my desk' which is often unless I am in the just adjoining nursery (room above garage).
The moms and dads are onsite and our personal companions. Again we have no kennels so each are allowed the same freedom as the humans have in our home. All of our adult canines are obedient and well mannered thus setting wonderful examples for the puppies.
Our wee ones start potty training at just 4 weeks. At six weeks they start going outside their bed area to the pee pee pads. They reside in our living room in a 4 X 4 puppy play pen or in the larger nursery at my office. They are touched and receive much play time from us many times throughout the day. At this stage, they have started lifting their little front legs to be picked up and snuggled in response to reaching down to get them. Lying in our hand (belly up) they raise their chins for the much expected kisses on the neck. Each one tries to sit up on hind legs with paws reaching up to get the most advantage of being ‘chosen’ to lift out and shown favor.
We work diligently from the moment they are born for the big transition day, always thinking of new ways to make their adoptive home seem familiar. We thus have several routines that we teach, one being playing lullabies at bedtime, holding/rocking each one and humming the lullabies. If the adoptive family chooses to do this (which we ask to download the music 'Child's Gift of Lullabyes'), it will seem as if they have never ‘left home’ that first night. Each puppy has his/her own booklet giving all the information that is needed for their new home. Each puppy is completely crate trained at adoption for the night meaning at 10 weeks they can sleep in their crate the entire 7-8 hours without needing to potty. We again pad train them due to our cold and wet climate area. So the outdoor training will have to be done by the adoptive family but easy and good to have both. This is a wonderful advantage and contrary to opinion...in my experience does not confuse them. (maybe because we do take them out on good weather days for play and exercise.)
We send home a washable pee pad, a toy from the litter and a blanket which all have the necessary 'smells' of home to help in the transition day and thereafter. Most of my families say their puppy did not 'skip a beat' and just felt right at home upon arrival. This makes my heart merry! oh and we also ask the family for an old tee shirt from their home for the puppy to sleep with for a few nights to get the smell of your home and family. Familiarity breeds comfort!
We advise each adopting family to educate themselves on the problematic puppy mills. Also please be careful before sending money to certain advertisers as many have lost their investment and never received a puppy. This has happened to me from what looked like a reputable site. I will be glad to help you in any way that I possibly can even if I do not have a puppy available. May blessings be upon the search for your new family member as this is one of the most important decisions a person/family will make. It is for a lifetime!
Sincerely,
Cindy
